Singer Shalmali Kholgade, known for her breakout hit "Pareshaan" from the 2012 film Ishaqzaade, recently performed at a private concert in Bengaluru. In an exclusive interview with Bangalore Times, she expressed her preference for live performances over studio recordings, stating she thrives on the energy of a live audience. Kholgade emphasized the collaborative nature of music, highlighting the importance of her team in shaping her shows and engaging the audience through choreography and visuals.

Regarding social media, Kholgade mentioned her selective approach to sharing content, focusing on music and arts rather than personal opinions or issues. She emphasized the need for balance and privacy on social platforms to maintain mental well-being.

Reflecting on her success in the Bollywood music industry, Kholgade acknowledged Amit Trivedi for giving her the opportunity to showcase her talent with the song "Pareshaan," which paved the way for her successful playback singing career. She described the stage as a place where she feels empowered and in control, likening herself to a sorcerer captivating her audience with every move. The credit for my independent music is like my own creation. Before, I was involved in various activities like performing with my college band and in clubs. I also participated in a Latvian cabaret, doing shows while recording jingles. Music has always been my passion, and I continue to pursue it. My dad, whom I fondly call baba, believed that a significant part of life's education comes through travel. Thus, he encouraged me to explore, converse with people, ask questions, and stay curious. I feel fortunate to experience all of these adventures while also pursuing my music career, which to me, is living my best life. I've always aspired to be involved in all aspects of music, not just singing, but everything that contributes to the final product. This holistic approach is an extension of my musical identity. Shalmali Kholgade shares, "I find AI to be extremely scary." Recently, I released a song titled "Tu Hai" in collaboration with Nikhil D’Souza. Following its release on a streaming platform, I came across another track the next day named "Tu Hi Tu Hai," where I was credited as the female singer, even though I had never recorded such a song. It appears to be an AI-generated track, possibly uploaded intentionally to decrease the number of streams on my song, a development that left me feeling apprehensive.
